Bransom's NAJ Jet 1 winner for January - Cherie-Anne Sassoli-Walker of Beaverbrooks

Congratulations to Cherie-Anne Sassoli-Walker of Beaverbrooks the Jeweller in Whiteley (Fareham), Hants, who wins the NAJ's Bransom Jet 1 Award for January 2016.

‘I have been in the jewellery business for 14 months, after previously being a commercial insurance underwriter for 15 years.  I love working with all the wonderful jewellery and watches and I am very lucky to work with such amazing and enthusiastic people.’

On learning she has won the Bransom award she exclaimed, ‘Winning the Bransom award means so much to me.  When I found out, I genuinely couldn't believe it. I hadn't studied for over 15 years.  I'm a part-time mum of two so it took a lot of work and juggling to complete the Jet 1 course, but it was most definitely worth it.  My colleagues at Beaverbrooks have been so supportive and were thrilled for me, I've been showered with gifts and praise and it has been very emotional.  I feel particularly proud since it proves that you can change your career and succeed at any point in your life.’

Would she recommend the JET to others? ‘The course was really well structured with the learning material relevant and interesting.  I found it challenged me but, also helped me confirm what I'd learnt on the job too.  I particularly loved talking about my customer interactions, whether it was recognising buying signals, or explaining the four C's of diamonds.  The Hallmark section was invaluable and one of the most useful to me in my everyday customer service.  The course helps you collate your information and thoughts.  It also encourages you to research and find out more about your industry.  It has given me a qualification which can only assist my career in the Jewellery trade.  I think it is a great way to give you confidence and knowledge and I would most definitely recommend it to others.’

Cherie-Anne’s tutor Michelle McCormick had put her forward for the award because she, ‘has embraced her studies and has produced five outstanding assignments. Her answers demonstrate her positive attitude to delivering exceptional customer service and her writing has been a pleasure to read.  Well done Cherie-Anne on this achievement.’
