The original Bransom company was formed in 1971 as an IBM partner, writing bespoke software for various companies. Packages were commissioned from a variety of clients, including several large banks and insurance companies.
The Bransom Jewellery Stock Management system evolved from a commission to write a jewellery management system, and gained NAG approval in 1982. The company became Bransom Retail Systems Ltd in 1990. The company have improved and evolved the original system ever since then, and to date is still the only package recommended by the NAG. Bransom only provide systems for the Jewellery Trade.
The NAG connection
Some years ago the National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG) realised the potential benefits jewellers could derive from computerising their stock records. With this in mind they formed a working group to evaluate the requirements of the membership. The result, after exhaustive investigation was that the only system to meet those stringent requirements was and still is the Bransom Retail Management System.
Running a successful business means not only making profits today, but also planning how best to use those profits for the continued success of the business. Hence a computerised system must give you the right information about your business in order to help you make the right decisions about your future
